There are no words to describe the pain that a mother feels when she loses her child. It is a pain that is so deep and so raw that it is impossible to imagine.
I know this pain all too well. I lost my son, Vasilis, in a car accident in 2016. He was only 22 years old. Vasilis was full of life and laughter. He was always the one who made everyone around him smile. He was my best friend, my confidant, and my everything.
When Vasilis died, I felt like a part of me had died with him. I was lost and alone in my grief. I didn't know how to go on without him.

But then I remembered something that Vasilis always told me. He said, "Mom, no matter what happens in life, never give up. Always keep fighting." So that's what I did. I kept fighting. And slowly but surely, I started to heal.

I still miss Vasilis every day. But I know that he would want me to be happy. So I try to live my life to the fullest in his honor. I volunteer my time to help others who are grieving. I speak out about the importance of organ donation. And I share my story with others in the hope that it will help them to find hope and healing.

If you are grieving the loss of a loved one, please know that you are not alone. There are people who care about you and want to help you. Reach out to a friend, a family member, or a grief counselor. There is help available, and you don't have to go through this alone.

Vasilis, my son, I will never forget you. I will always love you. And I will always be fighting for you.

Until we meet again, my sweet boy.
