何景揚

As an American living in China, I've been following the story of He Jingyang, a Chinese teenager who was detained for over a year for posting pro-democracy messages online. I was shocked and saddened to hear about his case, and I've been following it closely ever since.
He Jingyang was born in 2004 in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong. He was a bright and curious child, and he developed a passion for politics at a young age. In 2019, at the age of 15, he began posting messages on social media in support of Hong Kong's pro-democracy movement.
He's posts quickly went viral, and he soon gained a large following online. However, his activism also attracted the attention of the Chinese authorities. In June 2020, he was detained by police and charged with "inciting subversion of state power".
He was held in detention for over a year without trial. During that time, he was interrogated and tortured, and he was denied access to a lawyer or his family. In July 2021, he was finally sentenced to two years in prison.
He's case has sparked international outrage, and human rights groups have called for his release. The United States government has also condemned his detention, and it has called on China to respect freedom of speech and assembly.
He's story is a reminder of the importance of fighting for democracy and human rights. It's also a reminder of the courage of those who speak out against injustice, even in the face of great danger.
I am hopeful that one day He Jingyang will be released from prison and that he will be able to continue his activism. I urge everyone to stand up for freedom of speech and assembly, and to speak out against the persecution of those who dare to speak the truth.
Here are some ways you can help:
  • Write to your elected officials and urge them to speak out against He Jingyang's detention.
  • Sign petitions calling for his release.
  • Spread the word about his case on social media.
  • Donate to organizations that are working to support He Jingyang and other political prisoners in China.
Together, we can make a difference.
