唐英年 Announced For Chief Executive!

For those of you who don't know, Henry Tang Ying-yen is a Hong Kong politician.
He served as the Chief Secretary for Administration of Hong Kong from 2007 to 2011 and was the Financial Secretary of Hong Kong from 2003 to 2007.

Tang is a member of the Tang family, one of Hong Kong's wealthiest families.

He is also a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

Tang announced his candidacy for Chief Executive of Hong Kong on 24 January 2012.
  • He is one of the favorites to win the election.

  • Tang's campaign is based on three main pillars:
    • Improving the economy

    • Improving education

    • Protecting the environment

In a recent speech, Tang said that he wants to make Hong Kong a more prosperous, just, and sustainable city.
"I believe that Hong Kong can be a better place for all of us," he said.

"I am asking for your support to make that happen."

Tang's candidacy has been met with mixed réactions.
Some people support him because of his experience and his commitment to Hong Kong.

Others are concerned about his close ties to the Chinese government.

Tang has said that he is confident that he can win the election.
"I am a fighter," he said.

"I will never give up on Hong Kong."

The Chief Executive election is scheduled for 25 March 2012.
We will have to wait and see if Tang can win the election and make his vision for Hong Kong a reality.
