The Hong Kong Premier League (Chinese: 香港超級聯賽), commonly known as the Hong Kong Premier League (Chinese: 港超聯), is the top-tier professional football league in Hong Kong. It is organized by the Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA) and currently consists of 10 clubs.
The league was founded in 2014 as the successor to the Hong Kong First Division League. The first season was played in 2014–15 and was won by Kitchee. Kitchee have been the most successful club in the league's history, having won four of the six completed seasons.
The league is contested on a home-and-away basis, with each club playing each other twice during the regular season. The top six clubs at the end of the regular season qualify for the championship playoffs, while the bottom four clubs play in the relegation playoffs. The champion of the championship playoffs is crowned the Hong Kong Premier League champion.
