車路士 What’s the latest?

“車路士” is the Chinese name for a football club based in west London, England, officially called the Chelsea Football Club. Since moving divisions they have been playing in the Premier League, which is the top level of the English football league system.

Recently, the team has been in the news due to a change in ownership. In May 2022, Roman Abramovich, a Russian oligarch, sold his controlling stake in the club to a consortium led by Todd Boehly, an American businessman. This move was finalized in the summer of 2022.

Hansjörg Wyss, a Swiss billionaire, and,
Jonathan Goldstein, a British property developer.

The club’s fans are hoping that the new ownership will bring success to the club. Chelsea have won some of the most prestigious trophies in the club game, including the Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup.

The club’s most recent major trophy was the Champions League which they won in 2021, beating Manchester City in the final. However, they’ve had a disappointing season in 2021-22, finishing third in the Premier League and losing in the finals of both domestic cups to Liverpool – the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.

The club’s new owners have already made some changes to the club’s management, appointing Todd Boehly as chairman and hiring Graham Potter as manager.
