한가위 : Korea`s Mid-Autumn Harvest Festival

Chuseok, also known as Hangawi, is one of the most important holidays in Korea. It is a time when families come together to celebrate the harvest of the past year and to honor their ancestors.

The festival falls on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar, which usually occurs in September or October. In 2023, Chuseok will be celebrated on September 29th.

In the lead-up to Chuseok, families begin preparing for the festival by cleaning their homes, preparing traditional food, and making offerings to their ancestors.

On the day of Chuseok, families gather together to share a meal and to participate in traditional activities such as playing games, singing songs, and dancing.
