BENSALEM, Pennsylvania (WPVI) - - For Bensalem High School senior gatekeeper Maddie MacDougall, consistently on the b-ball court is a gift.
"I think I have an altogether different point of view," she said. "The vast majority simply go out and play and believe it's another game, yet I think, 'Goodness, it's one more opportunity to go out and stand up and play once more.' There was a period where that wasn't so much as a suspected entering my thoughts.'"

It was quite recently she was unable to imagine herself strolling once more, not to mention running a quick break.
"We were out a neighborhood drive-thru eatery, and it was storming heavily, and my companion and I went out to the parking garage to get something," she said. "I slipped, and a vehicle really rolled over me."

That vehicle was a minivan, and the mishap left MacDougall with a broke pelvis and inner draining from kidney and liver slashes that expected a helicopter ride to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for crisis medical procedure.

"It's truly alarming. Realizing you have an entire future in front of you and realizing simply in one moment it might have vanished for me," said MacDougall.

She was hospitalized for over a month and stayed in a wheelchair with poles holding her pelvis together.

Yet, following four months of active recuperation, she re-figured out how to walk.
"It was an ordinary inquiry I could pose to them, 'Would I be able to play sports? When would I be able to return to sports?' I don't think they needed to put me down, so they never furnished me a straight response," she said. "They didn't tell me, 'No, you're not going to play once more,' yet they wouldn't agree, 'Indeed, you will play once more.'"

Her Coach Steve Johnson reviewed the episode appearing perilous.

"You couldn't say whether she'd have the option to walk once more, not to mention play once more," he said.

In any case, play once more, she did in her senior season.

MacDougall even hit a game-dominating three-pointer.
Johnson said, "She's simply a child you need to pull for. She lights up the room, storage space, any place she's at."

So what's straightaway? Indeed, when she's not depleting jumpers, MacDougall is facilitating her school's reports.
