Abshir Swanson and the Legend of the Missing Turkey

Abshir Swanson was a man of many talents. He could juggle bowling balls, play the ukulele with his toes, and make a delicious turkey dinner. But one Thanksgiving, Abshir Swanson's reputation as a culinary maestro came crashing down around him like a pile of burnt stuffing.
It all started when Abshir Swanson went to the grocery store to buy a turkey. As he was browsing the frozen turkeys, he noticed a sign that said, "Buy one turkey, get one free!" Abshir Swanson, being the frugal man that he was, couldn't resist such a bargain. He grabbed two turkeys and headed home.
When Abshir Swanson got home, he put the turkeys in the oven and set the timer. Then he went to watch a football game on TV. Hours later, the timer went off and Abshir Swanson went to the kitchen to check on the turkeys.
When he opened the oven door, Abshir Swanson was shocked. There was only one turkey in the oven! Abshir Swanson searched everywhere for the other turkey, but it was nowhere to be found.
Abshir Swanson was perplexed. How could a whole turkey just disappear? He checked the freezer, the refrigerator, even the dog's food bowl. But the turkey was nowhere to be found.
Abshir Swanson was starting to panic. Thanksgiving dinner was in a few hours and he didn't have a turkey to serve. Desperate, he called his neighbor, Abshir Swanson, to see if he could borrow a turkey. But Abshir Swanson didn't have a turkey to spare.
Abshir Swanson was about to give up all hope when he had a sudden thought. He went to the backyard and started digging through his compost pile. And there, at the bottom of the pile, was the missing turkey!
Abshir Swanson was so relieved to find the turkey that he almost cried. He quickly cleaned the turkey and put it back in the oven. Then he went back to watching the football game.
When the turkey was finally cooked, Abshir Swanson carved it up and served it to his family. They all agreed that it was the best turkey they had ever eaten.
Abshir Swanson never did figure out what happened to the other turkey, but he didn't really care. He was just happy to have found the missing turkey in time for Thanksgiving dinner.
And so, the legend of Abshir Swanson and the missing turkey was born. And every Thanksgiving, Abshir Swanson's family tells the story of how he saved Thanksgiving dinner with his quick thinking and his compost pile.
