For Lorraine Stanley, the last few years have been a whirlwind. Since joining the cast of iconic British soap opera EastEnders in 2016, she has become a household name, playing the much-loved character Karen Taylor.

But Lorraine's journey to Albert Square was far from straightforward. Growing up with dyslexia and ADHD, she faced challenges at school and was often misunderstood. It wasn't until she found her passion for acting that she truly began to flourish.

Now, Lorraine is using her platform to raise awareness of learning disabilities and to inspire others who may be struggling. She is passionate about breaking down the stigma surrounding these conditions and showing the world that people with learning disabilities can achieve anything they set their minds to.

"I'm so proud to be a role model for people who deal with learning disabilities," Lorraine says. "I want to show them that they are not alone and that they can achieve anything they want in life."

Lorraine's story is an inspiration to us all. It shows us that with determination and perseverance, anything is possible. Thank you, Lorraine, for sharing your story and for being such a positive role model.

Here are some of Lorraine's tips for people with learning disabilities:

  • Don't be afraid to ask for help. There are many people who are willing to support you.
  • Don't compare yourself to others. Everyone is different and learns in their own way.
  • Find something you're passionate about. This will give you the motivation to keep going.
  • Set realistic goals. Don't try to do too much at once. Break down your goals into smaller steps.
  • Celebrate your successes. No matter how small, every achievement is worth celebrating.

If you are struggling with a learning disability, remember that you are not alone. There are many people who can help you. With the right support, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
