History
Air Canada was founded in 1937 as Trans-Canada Air Lines (TCA). The airline's first flight was from Vancouver to Seattle on September 1, 1937. In 1964, TCA changed its name to Air Canada.
Over the years, Air Canada has grown through a series of mergers and acquisitions. In 1987, it acquired Canadian Airlines International. In 2000, it acquired Air Nova. In 2001, it acquired Zip. In 2012, it acquired Jazz Air.
