Air Canada's New Fees: Are They Worth It?

Have you ever been frustrated by unexpected fees when booking a flight? If so, you're not alone. Air Canada recently announced new fees that have many travelers up in arms. But are these fees really as bad as they seem? Let's take a closer look.
The new fees include a $25 charge for checked bags, a $12 fee for carry-on bags, and a $10 fee for seat selection. These fees are in addition to the base fare of the ticket.
Air Canada says that these fees are necessary to cover the costs of providing these services. The airline also says that the fees are in line with those charged by other airlines.
However, many travelers are not happy about the new fees. They argue that the fees are too high and that they will make it more expensive to travel. Some travelers are even vowing to boycott Air Canada.
Is the outrage justified?
Whether or not the new fees are justified is a matter of opinion. Some people believe that the fees are too high, while others believe that they are necessary to cover the costs of providing these services. Ultimately, it is up to each individual traveler to decide whether or not they are willing to pay the new fees.
What can you do about it?
If you are not happy about the new fees, there are a few things you can do. You can choose to fly with a different airline, or you can try to avoid the fees by checking in online, printing your boarding pass at home, and bringing only a carry-on bag. You can also contact Air Canada and voice your concerns.
My take
I understand why Air Canada is charging these new fees. The airline is facing rising costs, and it needs to find ways to make up for the lost revenue. However, I think the fees are too high. I also think that Air Canada could do a better job of communicating the fees to travelers.
I am not planning to boycott Air Canada, but I will be looking for ways to avoid the new fees. I will also be contacting Air Canada to voice my concerns.
