Keane joined West Ham United on loan in January 2011 and then made the move permanent in the summer of 2011. He spent three seasons at West Ham and scored 30 goals in all competitions. He left West Ham in 2014 and joined Indian Super League club ATK.
Keane retired from professional football in 2016. He made 146 appearances for the Republic of Ireland and scored 68 goals. He is the Republic of Ireland's all-time top goalscorer and is considered one of the greatest Irish footballers of all time.
