Anayansi Catorze: The Life of a Serial Over-Thinker

I'm Anayansi Catorze, and I'm here to share my life as a serial over-thinker. It's not always easy, but it sure is entertaining!

Let me start by saying that I'm a big fan of thinking. I love to ponder the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

But sometimes, my thinking gets the better of me. I'll start to overanalyze everything, from the smallest decision to the most complex problem.

For example, the other day I spent an hour trying to decide what to wear to the grocery store.

I went back and forth between several outfits, weighing the pros and cons of each one. I thought about the weather, the time of day, and what other people might be wearing.

In the end, I gave up and just put on my pajamas. At least I was comfortable!

I know I'm not the only one who overthinks things. In fact, I think it's a pretty common problem. We all want to make the best decisions we can, but sometimes we get so caught up in the details that we can't see the forest for the trees.

If you're an over-thinker like me, here are a few tips that might help you:

  • Set a time limit for thinking. Give yourself 15 minutes to think about a problem, and then force yourself to stop. If you can't come up with a solution in that time, take a break and come back to it later.
  • Write down your thoughts. This can help you to get them out of your head and see them more clearly. Once you've written them down, you can start to sort through them and identify the ones that are most important.
  • Talk to someone else. Sometimes it helps to talk to someone else about a problem. They can offer a fresh perspective and help you to see things in a new way.
  • Just do it. Sometimes the best thing to do is just to stop thinking and take action. You may not make the perfect decision, but at least you'll be moving forward.

Overthinking can be a pain, but it can also be a gift. It can help us to learn more about ourselves and the world around us. Just remember, there's a time to think and a time to act. Don't let your thinking get in the way of living your life!
