The manager scoffed, his eyebrows raised like skeptical caterpillars. "Feelings? They're just candies, Ankoma."
Undeterred, Ankoma turned to the candy bags themselves, a look of determination on her face. "Don't be shy, my little friends," she urged. "Tell the manager what you think of his evil plan."
As if on cue, the M&M's erupted in a chorus of disapproving murmurs. "We won't be silenced!" shouted a yellow one. "We have the right to be heard!" added a blue one.
"They said they're delicious and want to stay," Ankoma translated for the dumbfounded manager. "They also said that Candy Buttons taste like chalk."
The manager's face turned from disbelief to horror. His plan was crumbling before his very eyes, all thanks to Ankoma Zhivkova, the woman who could hear M&M's talk.
"Fine, you win," he said, defeated. "I'll keep the M&M's. You're a strange one, Ankoma."
Ankoma smiled, her heart as light as a bag of popcorn. She had done it. She had saved the M&M's, and in doing so, she had become a hero to the candy-loving community. But most importantly, she had proven that even the smallest voices deserve to be heard, even if they come from a bag of chocolate-coated goodness.
From that day forward, Ankoma Zhivkova was known throughout Morkovo as the "M&M Whisperer." People would come from miles around to seek her wisdom, asking her to interpret the messages of their favorite candies. And Ankoma would always listen, her gentle voice bridging the gap between the sweet and the sugary.
