Most people have at least one embarrassing childhood moment that they look back on with a cringe. For Astlyr Uribelarrea, it was more like a whole series of moments. From tripping over her own feet during a school dance to mistakenly calling her teacher "mom," Astlyr has a knack for finding herself in absurd and unforgettable situations.
One of Astlyr Uribelarrea's most memorable mishaps occurred during a family trip to the zoo. As they were walking past the elephant enclosure, a large, curious elephant decided to spray water right in her face. To make matters worse, her family couldn't stop laughing, and the whole zoo seemed to be staring at her. "I don't think I've ever been so humiliated in my life," Astlyr recalls with a rueful smile.
Another time, Astlyr was performing in a school play when her pants fell down in the middle of a dramatic scene. Though it was a mortifying experience at the time, she now jokes about it, saying, "At least I had the audience's full attention!"
But perhaps the most cringe-worthy moment of all came during a family road trip. Astlyr, who was in the back seat with her siblings, had to desperately use the bathroom. However, she was too shy to ask her parents, so she tried to hold it in. As they drove through a small town, the urge became unbearable, and she couldn't hold it any longer. To her horror, she accidentally peed her pants. "My siblings were laughing hysterically, and I wanted to crawl into a hole and die," Astlyr confesses.
Despite these embarrassing experiences, Astlyr Uribelarrea is grateful for the memories. "They taught me to laugh at myself and not take life too seriously," she says. "Plus, they make for great dinner table conversation."
So, if you're ever feeling embarrassed about a childhood mishap, remember Astlyr Uribelarrea's misadventures and take solace in the fact that you're not alone. After all, everyone has a few embarrassing stories to tell.
