Austin Dillon
What's in a name?
.
As a kid growing up in North Carolina, I always knew I wanted to be a race car driver. I would sit for hours watching NASCAR races on TV, dreaming of one day being behind the wheel of one of those powerful machines. My favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt, and I would pretend to be him every time I played with my toy cars. I even named my first dog after him.
When I was 16 years old, I finally got my chance to race a real stock car. I was nervous at first, but as soon as I hit the gas pedal, I knew I was meant to be a racer. I won that race, and I've been racing ever since.
Over the years, I've had some amazing experiences. I've won races, met incredible people, and traveled all over the world. But one of the things I'm most proud of is my name.
My name is Austin Dillon, and I'm a NASCAR driver. I'm following in the footsteps of my grandfather, Richard Childress, and my great-uncle, Dale Earnhardt. I'm proud to carry on their legacy, and I'm determined to make my own mark in the sport.
I know that there are a lot of people who don't understand why I chose to race. They think it's dangerous, and they worry about me getting hurt. But I love racing. It's in my blood.
I'm not afraid to take risks. I know that there's always a chance that I could get hurt, but I'm not going to let that stop me from doing what I love. I'm going to keep racing, and I'm going to keep trying to win.
I'm Austin Dillon, and I'm a NASCAR driver. I'm proud of my name, and I'm proud of the legacy that I'm carrying on.
