Autie Arcaya: Crazy While Being Pregnant with a Glass of Wine

I'll admit, I've done some crazy things in my life, but being pregnant while drinking a glass of wine is definitely up there with the most outrageous.

It all started when I found out I was pregnant with my first child. I was so excited and couldn't wait to be a mother. But then came the morning sickness. Oh, the morning sickness! It was like a never-ending wave of nausea that hit me every time I opened my eyes.

One day, I was feeling particularly nauseous when my husband came home from work and poured me a glass of wine. He knew I loved wine, and he thought it might help me feel better. I hesitated for a moment, but I was so desperate to feel better, I decided to take a sip.

And that's when all hell broke loose. The wine hit my stomach like a ton of bricks, and I immediately threw up all over the rug. My husband was horrified, and I was just plain embarrassed.

But then, something strange happened. As I was cleaning up the mess, I realized that the nausea had gone away. I felt completely fine. I couldn't believe it. I had just found the cure for morning sickness: wine.

So, for the next few months, I became the pregnant lady who drank wine. I would have a glass every night before bed, and it would magically make the nausea go away. My husband thought I was crazy, but I didn't care. I was feeling good, and that's all that mattered.

Until one day, I went to my doctor's appointment and told her about my little secret. She looked at me like I was an idiot, and she told me that drinking alcohol while pregnant was very dangerous. She said it could cause all sorts of problems for my baby.

I was devastated. I had been so happy to have finally found a way to get rid of my morning sickness, and now I had to stop. I cried all the way home, and I didn't drink another drop of wine for the rest of my pregnancy.

Looking back, I know that I was lucky. I didn't have any problems during my pregnancy, and my baby was born healthy. But I still cringe when I think about how close I came to putting my baby at risk.

So, if you're pregnant, please don't drink alcohol. It's just not worth the risk. There are plenty of other ways to deal with morning sickness, and none of them involve putting your baby in danger.

Here are a few tips for dealing with morning sickness without alcohol:

  • Eat small, frequent meals
  • Drink plenty of fluids
  • Get plenty of rest
  • Try acupuncture or acupressure
  • Talk to your doctor about prescription medications

And remember, morning sickness is temporary. It will eventually go away, and you'll be left with a healthy baby. So please, don't risk your baby's health by drinking alcohol.
