Bagyong Aghon update




The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has raised Tropical Storm Signal No. 1 over several areas in Visayas and Mindanao as Tropical Storm Aghon continues to move westward.

As of 11:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm Aghon was estimated at 1,120 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour.

Aghon is expected to make landfall over Eastern Visayas or Caraga region by Saturday night or Sunday morning. It is then forecast to cross the Visayas and Mindanao regions before exiting the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday.

PAGASA has advised residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures, including:

  • Monitoring weather updates and following instructions from local authorities
  • Preparing an emergency kit with food, water, and essential supplies
  • Securing loose objects around the home and yard
  • Avoiding unnecessary travel
  • If possible, evacuating to a safer location

PAGASA also warned of possible flooding, landslides, and storm surges in the affected areas.

The agency urged the public to stay informed about the latest weather updates and to be prepared for any possible impact from the storm.
