Bank holidays 2025
As the year draws to a close, it's time to start thinking about your time off in the next one. And if you're anything like us, you'll definitely be planning your time around the bank holidays.
In 2025, there will be eight bank holidays in the UK, which are:
* _New Year's Day (Thursday 1 January)_
* _Good Friday (Friday 18 April)_
* _Easter Monday (Monday 21 April)_
* _Early May bank holiday (Monday 5 May)_
* _Spring bank holiday (Monday 26 May)_
* _Summer bank holiday (Monday 25 August)_
* _Christmas Day (Thursday 25 December)_
* _Boxing Day (Friday 26 December)_
As you can see, there are a few long weekends to look forward to in 2025. So whether you're planning a staycation, a city break, or simply a day of relaxation, there's plenty of time to get away from it all.
However, it's important to note that not all bank holidays are created equal. For example, New Year's Day and Christmas Day always fall on a weekday, which means you'll have to use up some of your annual leave if you want to take a long weekend. But the other bank holidays, such as Good Friday and Easter Monday, often fall on a Monday or a Friday, which gives you a three-day weekend without having to use any of your precious annual leave.
So, if you're planning your time off in 2025, make sure to take into account the bank holidays and plan your trips accordingly. And if you're lucky enough to get a long weekend, don't forget to make the most of it!
