Bbcbreakfast

Respected, Steve and Naga
I thought I'd write in about your excellent broadcasts this troubled year. In the turmoil of it all, you've been there each morning, a reassuring face in a world of uncertainty, a calm voice amidst a storm of bad news.
I'm not alone in thinking this, as your viewing figures testify. In fact, this period of incarceration has given me time to notice some things about my relationship with BBC Breakfast, and broadcasters in general.
Firstly, I have realised I'm emotionally attached to you. I may only see you for a couple of hours but I feel I know you. Through your broadcasts I've shared your personal triumphs and commiserated your losses, I've seen how the news affects you and what makes you laugh. I imagine your front rooms and know your pets!
Secondly, I've noticed how you've given me a sense of routine and structure in my life not something I thought was possible via the television. I used to think television was just a way of wasting time but I've realised it can be so much more. I now use the hour I spend watching you to eat my breakfast, get myself sorted and have a bit of you time.
Finally, I've noticed how much you've informed my perspective on issues. Before, I would just read newspapers and think I had a good understanding of what was going on in the world. But your programme has made me realise there is so much more to stories than I ever imagined.
So, thank you Steve and Naga. You do a great job in many ways and I for one, am eternally grateful for all that you do.
Yours aye,
A devoted viewer
