Ben Silvagni is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is the son of former Carlton player and coach Sergio Silvagni.
Silvagni was born in Melbourne, Victoria, on 13 May 1989. He played junior football for the Balwyn Football Club before being drafted by Carlton with pick 23 in the 2007 AFL Draft.
Silvagni made his AFL debut in round 1 of the 2008 season against the Brisbane Lions. He played 16 games in his debut season, kicking 11 goals.
In 2009, Silvagni became a regular member of the Carlton team. He played 22 games and kicked 20 goals for the season.
In 2010, Silvagni had his best season to date. He played 25 games and kicked 30 goals for the season. He was also named in the All-Australian team.
In 2011, Silvagni continued to be a key player for Carlton. He played 22 games and kicked 18 goals for the season.
In 2012, Silvagni had a disappointing season by his standards. He played only 14 games and kicked 11 goals for the season.
In 2013, Silvagni returned to form. He played 22 games and kicked 24 goals for the season.
In 2014, Silvagni had another good season. He played 23 games and kicked 21 goals for the season.
In 2015, Silvagni played his last season for Carlton. He played 18 games and kicked 14 goals for the season.
Silvagni retired from AFL football at the end of the 2015 season. He played a total of 142 games and kicked 118 goals for Carlton.
Since retiring from AFL football, Silvagni has worked as a commentator for Fox Footy.
