"Mario Day: Celebrating the Iconic Plumber"

It was about 38 years ago, on July 11, 1983, that the world was introduced to one of the most beloved video game characters of all time: Mario! The date was chosen because it resembles "MAR10," or March 10, a play on Mario's name and the date when the original Donkey Kong was released in Japan.

Since then, Mario has become a household name, starring in over 200 games and selling over 750 million copies worldwide. He's been on countless adventures, from saving Princess Peach from Bowser to competing in the Olympics. He's even been on the cover of Time magazine!

So what makes Mario so special?
It's hard to say exactly what it is about Mario that makes him so popular. His simple, yet iconic design? His cheerful personality? His ability to jump and stomp on enemies? Whatever it is, it's clear that Mario has captured the hearts of gamers for almost 40 years now.
