Bray vs Drogheda United: A Battle for Survival

The relegation/promotion play-off between Bray Wanderers and Drogheda United was a tense affair, with both teams fighting for their Premier Division lives. In the end, it was Drogheda who emerged victorious, securing their Premier Division status for another season.
Bray started the game brightly, and could have taken the lead early on when Dylan Hayes found himself through on goal. However, he couldn't beat Drogheda goalkeeper Connor Gavegan, and the chance went begging.
Drogheda grew into the game as the half wore on, and they took the lead just before the break when James Bolger headed home from a corner.
Bray came out fighting in the second half, but they were undone by a quick-fire double from Frantz Pierrot. The Haiti international striker scored twice in the space of four minutes to put Drogheda 3-0 up.
Bray pulled one back through Harry Groome, but it was too little, too late. Drogheda held on for a 3-1 victory, and they will now play in the Premier Division next season.
"It's a great feeling," said Drogheda manager Tim Clancy. "We've worked hard all season, and we're delighted to have secured our Premier Division status.
"We knew it would be a tough game, but we believed in ourselves, and we got the job done."
