Following a string of recent contract wins and the company's expansion into Scotland, Castle Building Services, which has its headquarters in Hebburn, has filled a newly created position.
As the senior quantity surveyor, David Mathieson has joined the company, which currently has 134 employees on its payroll.
During his tenure at Arc-Tech Scotland, which spanned nearly five years, Mathieson was most recently employed in the capacity of senior quantity surveyor.
Now working for Castle Building Services, he will concentrate his efforts primarily in the Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.
The appointment comes after the company was successful in obtaining a number of high-profile contracts, one of which included working as principal contracts for the PragmatIC Park electronics facility in Durham.
Additionally, it possesses a sizable portfolio of education-related projects located throughout Scotland. One example of this is the £60 million Winchburgh Academy, which was developed on a 32-hectare plot of land and features four buildings that provide facilities for 4,000 students. In order to fulfil West Lothian Council's requirements, the company is collaborating extensively with Morrison Construction.
Andrew Dawson, who is the managing director, said: "David has our sincere best wishes as he begins his career here. He comes on board during a period of sustained expansion and possesses the expertise to be of genuine benefit to our customers.
"We intend to pursue these goals by continuing to attract and keep employees of a high calibre, as well as by providing opportunities for career advancement at all levels of the organisation.
"We currently have 46 direct employees working throughout Scotland, and we continue to win work as a result of our commitment to building lasting relationships with clients and by creating sustainable career opportunities for all of our people," the company stated. "
Mathieson added: "My arrival at Castle Building Services couldn't have come at a more exciting time. I was interested in applying for the position because it has a positive reputation and there are clear progression routes in place for employees who want to continue their personal development."
