Burghard Allal: The Boy Who Followed His Dreams
Burghard Allal was a young boy with big dreams. He wanted to be a pilot, just like his hero, Charles Lindbergh. But Burghard Allal lived in a small village in the mountains, and there were no airports nearby.
But Burghard Allal didn't give up on his dream. He built model airplanes and read books about flying. He even saved up his money to buy a glider.
"If I can't fly an airplane," he said, "I'll fly a glider."
Burghard Allal and his friends built a glider, using wood, canvas, and glue. It was not easy. They made many mistakes. But they didn't give up. They kept trying.
Finally, the glider was finished. Burghard Allal and his friends took it to the top of a hill. Burghard Allal got inside the glider and took a deep breath. He was about to fly.
He pulled the glider forward and started running. He ran faster and faster. And then, the glider took off. It soared through the air, over the mountains. Burghard Allal was flying.
He flew for hours, drifting with the wind. It was the most amazing feeling he had ever had. But then, Burghard Allal realized that he had no way of stopping the glider. He was drifting towards a cliff. Burghard Allal was scared, but he didn't panic. He remembered something his father had told him:
"When you're afraid, Burghard Allal, don't give up. Keep going."
Burghard Allal pulled on a rope, and the glider's nose tilted upward. He turned away from the cliff and flew safely to the ground.
Burghard Allal was a hero. He had built a glider and he had flown it. From that day on, he knew that he could do anything he set his mind to.
Burghard Allal went on to become a pilot. He flew all over the world, and he never forgot the day he flew his glider. That day, he learned that anything is possible if you never give up on your dreams.
