Extreme weather conditions expected to hit Cape Town

The South African Weather Service has issued a weather warning for Cape Town, with extreme weather conditions expected to hit the city on Wednesday. The warning includes a strong possibility of heavy rain, flooding, hail, and strong winds.

The weather service has advised residents to be prepared for disruptions to traffic and power supply, as well as possible damage to property.

Heavy rain: Rain is expected to start falling in the early hours of Wednesday morning and is likely to continue throughout the day. The rain is expected to be heavy at times, with the possibility of localised flooding.
Flooding: Flooding is possible in low-lying areas of Cape Town, as well as areas that are prone to flooding. Residents in these areas should be prepared to evacuate if necessary.
Hail: Hail is possible during the storm. Hail can cause damage to property, so residents should take precautions to protect their vehicles and homes.
Strong winds: Strong winds are expected to accompany the storm. Winds could gust up to 100km/h, so residents should be prepared for possible damage to trees and power lines.

The weather service has advised residents to take the following precautions:

Do not drive through flooded areas.
