Cathal Barrett




Cathal Barrett is a professional hurler who plays as a right corner-back at senior level for the Tipperary county team.
Barrett made his first appearance for the team during the 2014 National Hurling League and immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen. Since then he has won two All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship medals, three Munster Senior Hurling Championship medals and two National Hurling League medals. Barrett has also won three All-Star awards.
At club level Barrett plays with the Holycross-Ballycahill club and has won one Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship medal.
Barrett is regarded as one of the best hurlers of his generation. He is a strong and physical defender who is also a good hurler. He is a key member of the Tipperary team and has played a major role in their recent success.
Barrett was born in Holycross, County Tipperary, Ireland. He began playing hurling at a young age and quickly showed a natural talent for the game. Barrett played for the Tipperary minor and under-21 teams before making his senior debut in 2014.
