There are those people who are most nervous in picking the right upholstery as little Bobby or Sally can ruin the entire fabric, whether it be a spillage of food and drink or dreaded errant crayon or maker. You do not have to suppress your complaints anymore.
Also, in most cases, even if your furniture is cheap, it can look luxurious depending on the fabric you will be using. Re-upholstery is often equivalent to buying a new piece. A little warning though, attempting to re-upholster your furnishings can also lead to drastic results. Unfortunately, there is no magic solution but there should at least be one for you:
1.Leather
Leather is obviously not fabric but it is mostly recommended for homes which always encounter spill incidents. You can just wipe the mess and it can be good as new. Moreover, experts predict leather to be in the trend that can last a long time. The bumps, scratches, stretches and wear spots even give leather an artistic feel. However, leathers can be a little bit unforgiving in weather extremes. It can either be pretty hot or cold. If your home is not well climate controlled, you may actually sweat on it in the summer time, or feel the chill on your skin when the air conditioning is cranked up.
2.Sensuede
Soft like the suede and pretty sturdy like the leather, sensuede gives new definition to durable. It is also environmental friendly and easy to clean. A dump towel can easily clear the mess.
3.Outdoor Fabrics
Dubbed by a famous interior designer from Jakarta, Indonesia as “the new trend”, using outdoor fabrics for indoors is a pretty practical thing to do. Drink spills bounces like babies. Among the most favorites are velvet and terry. Outdoor fabrics not only resist wet stains and fading, but often can be cleaned with bleach.
Another great option is to use slipcovers to minimize the risk of upholstery. Besides, putting on some kind of cover is a little less of a hassle anyway.
