Chris Cairns




Chris Cairns is a former New Zealand cricketer who played international cricket from 1989 to 2006. He was a key member of the New Zealand team that won the 1992 Cricket World Cup and was named the New Zealand Cricketer of the Year in 1995.

Cairns was born in Wellington, New Zealand, on June 13, 1970. He is the son of former New Zealand cricketer Lance Cairns. Cairns began playing cricket at a young age and made his first-class debut for Wellington in 1989. He made his Test debut for New Zealand in 1992 and scored a century in his first Test match.

Cairns was a talented all-rounder who could bat, bowl, and field. He was a hard-hitting batsman who could hit the ball long distances. He was also a skillful bowler who could swing the ball both ways. In the field, Cairns was a safe fielder who could take catches and run outs.
