Christmas Eve
Sleigh bells ring, are you listening?
Christmas Eve is that magical time between the darkness of winter and the explosion of light and joy that is Christmas Day. Whether you are a child or an adult, Christmas Eve is a time to celebrate and remember the true meaning of Christmas.
It's the night before Christmas and all through the house...
For children, it's an evening of anticipation and excitement. To let children get used to the idea of Santa's arrival, you could tell them that Santa Claus is in the North Pole, loading up his sleigh.
Then, an hour or two later, say Santa has left and is on his way. Tell them he is now flying over Europe, delivering presents to all the children.
You can check his progress on the
Google Santa tracker.
Of course, no Christmas Eve is complete without a visit from Santa Claus himself. Gather the family around the tree, sing some carols, and wait for the sound of sleigh bells.
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way...
When Santa arrives, he'll be sure to have a bag full of presents for the good little boys and girls. Also, don't forget to leave out some cookies and milk for Santa. He has a very long night ahead of him, he'll need the energy.
After Santa has left, it's time for bed. But before you drift off to sleep, take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, and to remember the love and joy that he brought into the world.
