James Madison

James Madison  James Madison jr. was born March 16th 1751. Hes the oldest of 12 children of his parents, his mom Nelly, and his father James Madison.  He grew up near Mount Pleasant in Orange, Virginia. In 1762 James joins the Collage Of New Jersey and graduates after 2 years from there. 

                                               James Madison was one of the delegates of the Constitional Convention. He represted Virginia and was 36 when he was a delegate in the convention being the youngest delegate.He kept secret  notes of every meeting in a journal and they were published after he died on June 28th 1836. James was present durning the signing of the Constitution. Madison helped encourage the Bill of Rights.He was reffered to as the "Father Of The Constitution" and had a strong influence on the constitution and building it. He spoke out more than 150 times at the meetings. Once the new Constitution was presented to be ratified James, Alexander Hamilton, and John Jay published the Federalist Papers which were series of essays about the new constitiution. Madison wrote 29 out of 85 of the essays. 

                                              James was elected to the House Of Representatives in 1789 and shows the Bill Of Rights.He joins Thomas Jefferson and leaves George Washington to form the Democratic Republican party. Madison married Doley Payne Todd on September 15th 1974, whos husband died and one of her children. Doley becomes a hostess in the white house. In 1801, Jame's father dies.

                                                In 1808 James Madison is elected to be the president of the United States, winning 122 votes to 42. In 1817 retires from being the president of the United States. He and Jefferson open the University of Viginia together but Jefferson dies the next year and Madison takes over leadership.
