Columbus Crew Nashville SC
*
The Columbus Crew and Nashville SC are two of the most exciting teams in Major League Soccer. Both teams are young and have a lot of talented players. They are also both located in cities that are growing and vibrant. They are having a "rivalry" that has only recently started to make noise in the MLS. These two teams are a lot alike, but they also have some key differences.
Nashville started as an expansion team that was apart of the USL (United Soccer League) since 2018. After two seasons in the USL, Nashville made their jump to the MLS in 2020. In just three seasons, Nashville has made it to a final match, the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
Columbus is an original MLS team that began playing in 1996. They have won two MLS Cups, in 2008 and 2020. Columbus was the runner-up in the 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
The Crew currently sit at 6th place in the Eastern Conference while Nashville sits at 9th. The Crew is 0-1-2 against Nashville, but did manage to advance to the semi-finals of the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
Both teams have a lot of young players who are still developing. Nashville has Hany Mukhtar, Randall Leal, and Ethan Zubak. Columbus has Lucas Zelarayán, Derrick Etienne Jr., and Yaw Yeboah. These players are all capable of making big plays and they are a big reason why both teams are so fun to watch.
Columbus and Nashville are both located in cities that are growing and vibrant. Columbus is the capital of Ohio and it is home to a number of Fortune 500 companies. Nashville is the capital of Tennessee and it is known for its music scene. Both cities are great places to live and work, and they are also great places to watch soccer.
The Crew and Nashville are set to face each other again this season on September 16th, in Nashville. Both teams will be looking to get a win and move up the standings. It should be a great match between two of the most exciting teams in MLS.
