The battle of the stars
In a game that had potential to be one for the ages, the Bengals came out on top, beating the Cowboys 27-20 on Monday Night Football. The Bengals have now won three straight games, while the Cowboys have lost three straight.
The Cowboys got off to a fast start, scoring a touchdown on their opening drive. But the Bengals answered right back, scoring a touchdown of their own on their first drive. The two teams traded touchdowns for the rest of the first half, and the Bengals led 14-13 at halftime.
The second half was more of the same, with both teams trading touchdowns. It was the Bengals who made the big play late in the fourth quarter, though, when Ja'Marr Chase caught a 33-yard touchdown pass from Joe Burrow. The Bengals then got a stop on defense, and they were able to run out the clock and win the game.
Joe Burrow was excellent for the Bengals, throwing for 242 yards and three touchdowns. Ja'Marr Chase was his favorite target, catching seven passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns. The Cowboys were led by Dak Prescott, who threw for 304 yards and two touchdowns. CeeDee Lamb was Prescott's favorite target, catching six passes for 113 yards.
The Bengals defense played well, holding the Cowboys to just 20 points. Trey Hendrickson had two sacks, and Vonn Bell had an interception. The Cowboys defense also played well, but they couldn't get enough stops when they needed them. Micah Parsons had two sacks, and Trevon Diggs had an interception.
The Bengals are now 5-8 on the season, while the Cowboys are 5-8. The Bengals will host the Browns next week, while the Cowboys will travel to face the Eagles.
