Croagh Patrick

Croagh Patrick, Sliabh Phádraig i nGaeilge, is a mountain in Ireland located in County Mayo in the Western Region of Ireland on the isthmus of the Mullet Peninsula between Clew Bay and Blacksod Bay. It is a sacred mountain and the third-highest mountain in Mayo after Mweelrea and Nephin.

Croagh Patrick is a popular pilgrimage site associated with Saint Patrick, who is said to have fasted on its summit for 40 days.
Each year on the last Sunday of July, thousands of pilgrims make the climb to the summit of Croagh Patrick, a tradition that has been carried out for centuries. The pilgrimage is said to bring good luck and to cure illness.

The summit of Croagh Patrick offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. On a clear day, one can see as far as the Aran Islands, the Twelve Bens, and even the distant peaks of the Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland. Pilgrims often leave behind small piles of stones at the summit, a practice that is said to bring good luck.

Croagh Patrick is a challenging hike, but it is well worth the effort. The ascent is steep and rocky, but the views from the summit are simply breathtaking. If you're looking for a unique and rewarding experience, I highly recommend climbing Croagh Patrick.
