Crocodile Dundee: A Perspective from the Outback

By Michael "Mick" Dundee
Blimey! G'day, mate! I'm Mick Dundee, and I reckon I got a few yarns to spin about that there film, "Crocodile Dundee."
Now, I'll be honest, when I first heard about them city folk from New York makin' a movie about us here in the outback, I was a tad skeptical. You see, we're a real down-to-earth bunch out here, not much for all that Hollywood hullabaloo.
But I'll be jiggered, they did a right fine job with it. They captured the spirit of the outback and the characters that live here. Course, they took some creative liberties, but that's the way of the world.
Reckon the best part of the whole shebang was meetin' the actors, Paul Hogan and Linda Kozlowski. They were a topnotch pair, and they really got into the characters. Paul's performance as me was downright uncanny.
But it wasn't all smooth sailin'. Let me tell you about the scene where I'm wrestling a croc. Well, they used a real croc, and I'll tell you what, it was a tad bit bigger than I expected. I reckon I pinched myself a good one when I got my hand out of its jaws.
All in all, though, I'm right proud of that film. It showed the world a glimpse of the real Australia, the Australia of the outback, mate. And it made me a household name, which is always a bit of a hoot.
So, next time you're out in the wilderness, or just want a good laugh, give "Crocodile Dundee" a watch. It'll put a smile on your face, I reckon. Just remember, the real Michael Dundee is a lot less polite than the one in the film!
