To protect health, raise the quality of life, and increase the economic level, a good sanitation service is required in low-income communities. While in richer or profitable communities, sanitation coverage is almost 99% as a result of a clear commitment of governments to provide it as part of the public services, but in low-income ones, it is only around 50%. The goal is to assist the process of increasing sanitation in low-income regions, by contrasting the differences in needs and solutions’ options with high-income regions. Most people lacking sanitation include the millions of poor people living under precarious institutional conditions and under an economic and social situation that avoids the use of conventional solutions. This shows the provision of sanitation in low-income areas is a major challenge.
We can improve sanitation in our community by providing toilets that flush into a sewer or safe enclosure. Promote good hygiene habits through education. Proper handwashing with soap and water can reduce diarrhea cases by up to 35 percent. Hold fundraisers to organize more cleaners to be active in low-income areas. Also providing proper draining systems so that clean water can be provided to every community.
