Culture Night

An Island-wide celebration of culture and the arts

Culture Night is an annual, all-island public event which takes place each year on the third Friday of September. The event is a celebration of all that makes up the richness and diversity of culture in Ireland today.

On Culture Night, hundreds of cultural institutions across Ireland open their doors to the public for free, offering a wide range of events and activities for all ages. These events include exhibitions, concerts, readings, performances, workshops, and more.

Here are just a few of the many events that took place on Culture Night 2023:

• The National Museum of Ireland opened its doors for free, offering a range of events including a guided tour of the museum's collection of Irish art and a talk on the history of the museum.
• The National Library of Ireland also opened its doors for free, offering a range of events including a guided tour of the library's collection of rare books and manuscripts and a talk on the history of the library.
• The Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) offered free entry to its exhibitions and a range of events including a guided tour of the museum's collection of modern and contemporary Irish art.
