Desmond Ridder is an American football quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Cincinnati, where he was a three-year starter and led the Bearcats to an undefeated regular season in 2021. Ridder was drafted by the Falcons in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Ridder was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and attended St. Xavier High School, where he played football and basketball. He was rated a four-star recruit by 247Sports and committed to play college football at the University of Cincinnati.

As a freshman at Cincinnati, Ridder started 11 games and led the Bearcats to a 11–2 record. He finished the season with 2,445 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and five interceptions. In his junior season, Ridder started all 12 games and led the Bearcats to a 13–0 record and a berth in the College Football Playoff. He finished the season with 3,334 passing yards, 36 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

Ridder was selected by the Falcons with the 74th overall pick in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He is expected to compete for the starting quarterback job in Atlanta.
