Detroit Tigers

Baseball is a national pastime and for Detroiters it means the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers have been around since 1894 and have won four World Series Championships (1935, 1945, 1968, and 1984).

The Tigers were originally called the Wolverines, but changed their name to the Tigers in 1901. The team played their home games at Bennett Park until 1912 when they moved to Navin Field, which was later renamed Tiger Stadium. Tiger Stadium was the home of the Tigers for over 80 years until the team moved to Comerica Park in 2000.
