Dundalk FC: A History of Success

Dundalk FC is an Irish professional football club based in the town of Dundalk in County Louth. The club was founded in 1903 and has won the League of Ireland Premier Division 14 times, the FAI Cup 12 times, and the League of Ireland Cup 7 times. Dundalk is the most successful club in Irish football history and has represented Ireland in European competition on numerous occasions.
The club was founded by a group of local businessmen and initially played in the Dundalk and District League. Dundalk joined the League of Ireland in 1926 and won their first league title in 1933. The club has won the league title on 14 occasions, most recently in 2019. Dundalk has also won the FAI Cup 12 times, most recently in 2020.
Dundalk has a proud history in European competition. The club has reached the group stage of the UEFA Europa League on three occasions and has also competed in the UEFA Champions League. Dundalk is the only Irish club to have reached the group stage of a major European competition.
The club is owned by a consortium of local businessmen and is managed by Vinny Perth. Dundalk plays its home matches at Oriel Park. The club has a large and passionate fan base and is one of the most popular clubs in Ireland.
