Did you know that many of the things we associate with Easter are not explicitly mentioned in the Bible?
Take Easter Eggs. Symbol of new life? Yes. Specifically mentioned in the Bible? No.
The Easter Bunny? Nope, doesn't show up in Biblical Texts either.
Easter itself, however, is quite clearly mentioned.
It's the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is a pretty big deal. But what does that really mean?
Easter is all about new beginnings and second chances. That's why we exchange eggs and chocolate bunnies, which are symbols of fertility and new life.
It's a time to reflect on the past year and to think about what we can do to make the next year better. It's a time to forgive others and to ask for forgiveness ourselves.
It's a time to celebrate the good things in our lives and to be grateful for all that we have.
So, as we gather with our family and friends this Easter, let's take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of the holiday. Let's celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the new life that it brings.
Let's forgive others and ask for forgiveness ourselves. Let's be grateful for all that we have.
And let's enjoy the chocolate bunnies!
