Edo Election Update Results




The Edo State Governorship election was held on September 19, 2024. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has started announcing the results of the election.

As of the time of writing, the results from 18 local government areas have been announced. The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has won in 13 local government areas, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Governor Godwin Obaseki, has won in 5 local government areas.

The results from the remaining 4 local government areas are still being collated. However, based on the results that have been announced so far, it is clear that the race is very tight.

The PDP has accused the APC of irregularities in the election, including vote-buying and intimidation of voters. The APC has denied these allegations.
