Katie Bagwell

1. What is your name?
Katie Bagwell

2. Where did you grow up?
Here, there, and everywhere! I was born in North Carolina. I have lived in New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, South Carolina, Virginia, and now Tennessee. It's been pretty fun seeing so much of the southern US.

3. What was your favorite subject(s) in school growing up?
Writing was my favorite subject. I liked the freedom and creativity of sitting and writing down all my thoughts, feelings, and observations.

4. What is one of your biggest personal accomplishments?
I have a wonderful husband who adores me (and I him) and a Pupchild (Lucy). I am blessed with a great family (so it's not really a personal accomplishment, but something I am very grateful to have in my life!).

5. If you could only save one non-living item from your house before it was destroyed by some type of disaster, what would it be?
The jewelry my grandfather made. He died when I was 5. So, everytime I wear something he made it makes me feel close to him and as if I know more about him.

6. What record album would you select as the soundtrack to a movie about your life? Why?
Anything Jack Johnson because it is mellow, yet profound at the same time.

7. Why are you studying education in graduate school?
I believe in being a lifelong learner. I also have the goal of inspiring my students to be lifelong learners. How can I do that without continuing to learn and develop personally and professionally?

8. What grade level and/or subject area do you hope to be teaching in the near future (or already teach)? If you don't plan on becoming a professional educator anytime soon, say so.
I teach elementary school. I have taught 4th grade for 4 years. But in my 5th year of teaching I will be teaching 5th grade. :-)

9. What are some important things you hope are part of your life 10 years from now?
My family, my faith, and many, many more adventures and experiences!
