Egg recall: What you need to know

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued an egg recall after a salmonella outbreak linked to the eggs. The recall includes all eggs produced by Rose Acre Farms in Hyde County, North Carolina, between January 1, 2023, and April 13, 2023.
Salmonella is a bacteria that can cause food poisoning. Symptoms of salmonella food poisoning include diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and abdominal cramps. In some cases, salmonella can also cause more serious health problems, such as arthritis, meningitis, and sepsis.
The CDC is advising consumers not to eat any eggs that have been recalled. If you have any eggs from Rose Acre Farms in your refrigerator, you should throw them away or return them to the store for a refund.
In addition to the egg recall, the CDC is also investigating a salmonella outbreak linked to eggs from another farm in Iowa. The CDC is advising consumers not to eat any eggs from Wright County Egg in Galt, Iowa, between January 1, 2023, and April 13, 2023.
If you have any questions about the egg recall or the salmonella outbreak, you can contact the CDC at 1-800-CDC-INFO (1-800-232-4636).
