Environmental Changes in Hawaii

In my opinion, volcano eruptions will one day affect our air to the point of it not being breathable.

One of the chemicals released during an eruption is Carbon Monoxide. Carbon Monoxide is considered a poison to our body and can be very dangerous if consumed in large amounts. Carbon Monoxide is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas.

Can you see the grey cloud around the top of the volcano?

  • Well, I think that someday the ash and carbon monoxide will build up to the point of making our air contaminated and hard to breath.

  • This is Kilauea; it erupts once every 3.95 years. With the amount that this volcano erupts, I think that this will be one of the primary contaminants of our air.
