Emerging Asia Cup: A Journey of Emerging Cricketers




Emerging Asia Cup or commonly known as ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup. This tournament started in 2013 and has been organized by Asian Cricket Council. ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup gives a great platform to the young and emerging cricketers of Asia.
The first season of Emerging Asia Cup was organized in 2013 in Bangladesh and the tournament was played in List-A format. Afghanistan won the inaugural season by defeating India in the final. Nepal and Afghanistan were given the opportunity to play and it was a great chance for them to compete against top-quality opposition.
The next season in 2015 was scheduled to be held in Malaysia, but the tournament was eventually cancelled because of the busy international calendar.
In 2017, the tournament was held in the United Arab Emirates and was again played in List-A format. India won the tournament by defeating Afghanistan in the final.
The 2018 season was scheduled to be hosted by Pakistan, but due to some security reasons, the tournament was shifted to Bangladesh and was played in T20 format. Bangladesh won the tournament by defeating Sri Lanka in the final.
The 2019 season was played in Bangladesh in T20 format. Pakistan won the tournament by defeating India in the final.
The 2020 season was scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2021 season was originally scheduled to be held in Bangladesh, but was again postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament was eventually cancelled in December 2021.
The 2022 season was scheduled to be held in Oman in February 2022, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament was eventually held in October 2022 in the United Arab Emirates. Bangladesh won the tournament by defeating Sri Lanka in the final.
The 2023 season is scheduled to be held in Bangladesh in October 2023.
The Emerging Asia Cup is a great platform for young and emerging cricketers to showcase their talent and gain experience at the international level. The tournament has also helped to raise the profile of cricket in the Asian region.
