England v Japan
The much anticipated rugby match of the season, England vs Japan, certainly lived up to expectation. It was a thrilling match from start to finish with both teams giving it their all.
The game started with England dominating possession and territory but they were unable to make it count on the scoreboard. Japan on the other hand made the most of their limited opportunities.
A try to Siosaia Fifita in the 27th minute and another straight after from Tevita Tatafu in the 29th, gave Japan a 14-0 lead.
England definitely came out with more intensity in the second half. The forwards dominated at scrum time and eventually managed to get themselves back in Japan's 22.
The pressure from England finally paid off when Anthony Watson scored in the 50th minute. The conversion from Marcus Smith made it 14 - 7.
England were awarded a penalty in the 66th minute, which Smith slotted to bring it back to 14 - 10.
In the final 10 minutes of the match, England showed their strength. Maro Itoje managed to plow his way over for a try and Smith converted to take the lead for the first time in the match.
England sealed the match in the 79th minute with a try to Ollie Hassell-Collins and Smith converted.
The final scoreline was 24 - 14 with England taking out the win.
It was a hard-fought victory for England, but they will be happy to have come away with the win. Japan can be proud of their performance, they certainly made England work hard for this victory.
