Fisher-Price Snuga Swings recalled due to suffocation hazard

The recall was prompted by the deaths of five infants, all of whom were found in the swings with their headrests bent downward. Five more infants died between 2012 and 2022.
The harnesses of the swings can loosen over time, allowing infants to slip through the opening at the bottom of the swing and become entrapped. This can lead to asphyxiation.
The recall affects about 2.1 million swings sold in the United States and Canada since 2012. The swings were sold in various colors and styles, including the Soothing Savanna Cradle 'n Swing and the Sweet Surroundings Cradle 'n Swing.
Customers who have purchased one of these swings should immediately stop using it and contact Fisher-Price for a full refund.
The company has set up a dedicated website for the recall at www.fisher-price.com/SnugaSwingRecall.
"Safety is our top priority and we are committed to providing parents with the best possible products for their children," the company said in a statement. "We regret any inconvenience this recall may cause, but we believe it is necessary to ensure the safety of our customers' children."
In addition to the recall, Fisher-Price is also working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to investigate the cause of the deaths.
