Gauteng cabinet




The Gauteng Provincial Government, led by Premier Panyaza Lesufi, has announced a new provincial cabinet following the recent provincial elections.

The new cabinet includes a mix of experienced and new faces, and represents a diverse range of backgrounds and skills.

The following is a list of the new Gauteng cabinet members:

  • MEC for Education: Matome Chiloane
  • MEC for Health: Nomathemba Mokgethi
  • MEC for Human Settlements and Cooperative Governance: Lebogang Maile
  • MEC for Infrastructure Development and Property Management: Tasneem Motara
  • MEC for Economic Development, Agriculture and Environment: Morakane Mosupyoe
  • MEC for Finance and e-Government: Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko
  • MEC for Community Safety: Faith Mazibuko
  • MEC for Social Development: Mbali Hlophe
  • MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation: Mbali Hlophe
  • MEC for Transport and Roads Infrastructure: Jacob Mamabolo.
  • The new cabinet faces a number of challenges, including high levels of unemployment, poverty, and inequality.

    However, the cabinet has pledged to work together to address these challenges and improve the lives of all Gauteng residents.

    The cabinet has also set a number of ambitious goals for the province, including:

    • Creating 500,000 new jobs by 2025
    • Reducing poverty by 50% by 2030
    • Improving the quality of education and healthcare for all Gauteng residents
