Ghana 1 vs 2 Niger: Black Stars Stumble at Home

Ghana's Black Stars' hopes of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations suffered a major setback as they were stunned at home by Niger. The match, played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, saw the Black Stars lose 1-2 to the Mena, who had arrived in Accra as underdogs.
The Black Stars, seeking a crucial victory to boost their chances of finishing top of Group E, were left to rue their missed opportunities. Ghana took the lead in the 67th minute through Jeremia Afriyie, but Ousseini Badamassi and Oumar Sako struck for Niger to secure a famous victory.
The defeat leaves Ghana third in Group E with nine points, behind Benin and Niger, who have 10 and 12 points, respectively. Ghana will now need to win their final group game against Benin on March 28 and hope that Niger loses to Mozambique to stand a chance of qualifying for the tournament.
